My niece’s pug, Edith (whom I mistakenly called Emily in the photo of her with her pacifier firmly in her mouth) had her first modeling gig, which as we all know is every young pug’s dream.

But why does she look so very disapproving, definitely not amused? Not that she is the type to smile that much, she’s more of a Victoria Beckham type.

I would have just written her attitude off as a simple case of Edith having a bad day and being forced to wear an ugly bow tie but I am now positive she somehow knew she was now the face and tail of a chauvinist bit of journalese the likes of which hasn’t been seen in North America since about 1969!

YOU BOUGHT ME A DOG- I WANTED A BABY is the natty title in this U.K. based, More Magazine written by a man, and I am astounded at the assumptions he makes, and how out of touch he seems to be. The young women I know are not swooning at the thought of cooking a meal or doing laundry to get their man, anymore than they are willing to be fobbed off by an expensive piece of jewellery.

The young men I know treat their girlfriends with respect and know damn well, these women are smart and are equal in every way.

Or, am I way off base?
